The right spaces to get your game face on

Halifax is home to a thriving sports community and boasts a number of world-class sporting venues. It’s also home to a large number of facilities that host national, regional, and grassroots sporting events regularly, bringing in participants, support teams, media, spectators, and families from across the Atlantic region, Canada, and the world.

Also, find the right spaces to create some magic

Whether dance, stand-up comedy, concerts, live theatre, singing, or any other cultural performance, Halifax has the spaces and the people to bring your ideas to life. The Rebecca Cohn Theatre, Neptune Theatre, Alderney Landing Theatre, Spatz Theatre, and the new Lighthouse Arts Centre are just a few of the places that are all about showcasing talent to an engaged audience. Encore!

Places to stay near the action

Rest and recovery are an important part of any performance. Luckily, Halifax’s hotel options are always on your side. With a range of rates (many offering preferred rates for larger groups) and convenient locations—often within walking distance of major venues—you’re bound to score a great place to stay. Our hotel operators are accustomed to hosting teams, troops, and groups, and will help make your stay a wonderful one.

The sports and teams that call Halifax home

Our sports teams prove our sports excellence—and there are a number of teams that proudly wear “Halifax” on their jerseys. The Halifax Thunderbirds are a professional box lacrosse team in the North Division of the NLL; the Halifax Mooseheads are a Canadian major junior ice hockey club; and the Halifax Wanderers FC is a professional football (soccer) team in the CPL.  Here, you'll also find an epic amount of University Sport taking place around Halifax's sports venues and on the campuses of Dalhousie, Saint Mary's, and Mount Saint Vincent.
