Take the Lead is a free program delivered by Discover Halifax. It’s designed to help Nova Scotians usher regional, national, and international conferences and events to Halifax. If you know of a corporate, cultural, community, or sporting event that’s overdue to take place in Halifax, reach out to us.

1. EXPLORE THE OPPORTUNITY: Does Halifax have the facilities, capacity, and expertise needed to host the event? We’ll find out. If so, let’s ‘bid’….
2. CREATE A COMPELLING PITCH: We help put Halifax’s best foot forward to the event organizers by developing a ‘pitch’ with truly compelling reasons to choose Halifax as next stop for their event. We have a nibble….
3. BRING ORGANIZERS FOR A VISIT: Some event organizers may need to see venues in-person and experience the culture that is uniquely Nova Scotian, before making their final decision. We can help coordinate that visit.
4. CONNECT THE DOTS: Large events take many partners. We can help connect event organizers with the right resources. Think accommodations, facilities, transportation, food & beverage, industry experts, offsite activities, and experiences.
5. EAST COAST WELCOME: We can help prime the local business community, so attendees feel a warm welcome from the city when they arrive and are able to maximize their Nova Scotia good time.
