Overview

Memory Lane Heritage Village is a unique living-history venue in Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia, that recreates rural coastal life in the 1940s through a collection of restored and replica buildings, period artifacts, costumed interpreters, roaming animals, and immersive demonstrations. The site includes a general store, vintage gas pumps, a schoolhouse, church, cookhouse, ‘Clam Factory’ venue space, and various wood and metal workshops and building complexes such as a mine camp. Together they form a charming “village” setting ideal for storytelling, tours, and atmospheric events. The site includes a field, a pond, and a red 1948 International pickup truck that is often available for rides around the grounds.

This seasonal event venue, offers both indoor and outdoor amenities. The Clam Factory replica building serves as a reception or event space (seating up to about 100 in theatre style) and opens with sliding doors to blend into the grounds. The Cookhouse can host seated meals of up to 85.

The Heritage Village is fully equipped with WiFi, accessible and gender neutral washrooms, grid-tied solar power to offset electricity usage, and staff support, allowing planners to build events that emphasize heritage charm without sacrificing essential logistics.
