La Tablée des Chefs: Warm Hearts, Full Bowls

Turn business events into a hands-on act of community care. In this meaningful team-building activity, delegates come together to prepare nutritious ready-to-cook soup mixes that will be distributed through local food banks and community organizations supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Halifax. More than just a culinary challenge, this activity embodies the spirit of Halifax’s hospitality and collective resilience. Each spoonful represents shared compassion and practical action against hunger—a powerful legacy your event can leave behind.

How it works

Participants join in on a fun, interactive session that combines teamwork, food preparation, and impact. In small groups, delegates measure and package hearty ready-to-cook soup mixes using wholesome, shelf-stable ingredients. Working together in an assembly-line style setup, participants are challenged to make a certain number of bags of soup in the time allotted for the group. Each bag of ready-to-cook soup provides 6 servings. At the end of the session, all completed soup bags are donated to local food banks, who provide them to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the community. Teambuilding with a local impact!

Other ways to engage

The activity itself supports our programs; all the soups made during the activation are given directly back to the community. The $3 per bag covers the basic costs of the activity, and any remaining profits directly support our mission: to feed and educate. Partner with La Tablée des Chefs so your event’s surplus food is put to good use. Ensure it is recovered and shared with the community to help fight food insecurity. Donations to La Tablée des Chefs are welcome at any level. Tax reciepts available.
