Halifax Central Library 5440 Spring Garden Road Halifax, NS B3J 1E9

Overview

Welcome!

Halifax looks forward to welcoming delegates to the 2025 Libraries, Archives, & Museums Nova Scotia (LAMNS) Conference, October 2 – 4! Here you will find a dedicated page for delegates that will outline everything you’ll need to know to make the most of your visit to our seacoast city.

Halifax is cultured and compact, merging the easygoing with the go-getting. Sunrise to sundown, there’s always more to discover. From the adventurous to the relaxing, and the just plain magical, it’s no wonder we have one of the highest conference attendance rates in Canada.

Conference Location

The majority of the Conference will be held at the Halifax Central Library (5440 Spring Garden Road). Two of the Pre-Conference Workshops plus some conference sessions on Friday afternoon will be held at the Nova Scotia Archives (6016 University Avenue) and Museum of Natural History (1747 Summer Street).

Getting Here & Getting Around

Halifax is so easily accessible by air, land and sea; you’ll be here before you know it!

Halifax Stanfield International Airport is Atlantic Canada’s centre for domestic, regional and international flight service offering direct flights to and from other Canadian cities, major city centres in the U.S., as well as the UK and Continental Europe. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to downtown Halifax. There are several options from limo, taxi or Uber to express shuttle service and local transit – more details on options can be found here.

And here is some helpful advice to navigate our airport, public transit, bridges, and ferries like a local!
