The Feed the Count experience transforms every seat at your event into an act of community care. In partnership with Upward Kitchen and Cafe, a local social enterprise, this initiative invites event planners to embed food security directly into their event economics, creating a ripple of impact that grows with every registration. The more delegates who attend, the more meals go out the door. It’s a simple, scalable model that turns attendance into abundance, and reflects Halifax’s deep culture of neighbourliness and looking out for one another.

How It Works

Working closely with the event planner, Upward Kitchen and Cafe helps design a customized per-ticket or per-delegate levy that fits the event’s scale and budget. For every delegate registered, a set number of freshly prepared meals is committed to the community. Upward Kitchen and Cafe monitors emerging needs across Halifax’s network of partner organizations and community fridges, directing meals where they are needed most at the time of the event, ensuring every contribution has the greatest possible impact. This simple integration is designed to reflect your organization’s values and your commitment to the community that’s hosting you.
