Take the Lead Champions honoured for driving $20M in events

Seven outstanding community leaders were recently recognized at the 2026 Take the Lead Award Reception for their role in bringing major events to Halifax. Collectively, their efforts helped secure six events for the region, generating more than $20 million in economic impact and showcasing Halifax on a national and international stage.

The Take the Lead program supports local Champions—passionate individuals who leverage their networks to attract a conference or event—by providing guidance, resources, and bid support to help bring each event to life in our city.
