iNaturalist BioBlitz for Nova Scotia Nature Trust

Overview

Transform your business event attendees into citizen scientists by combining guided nature hikes with hands-on biodiversity documentation using the iNaturalist app. As participants explore and learn about the Nature Trust’s protected Conservation Lands throughout HRM, they contribute valuable data that directly supports conservation efforts while deepening their connection to Nova Scotia’s unique ecosystems. Every observation enhances scientific understanding of the species living on protected lands, creating a lasting legacy that extends far beyond the event itself.

How it works

Event delegates join guided hikes in HRM and use the free iNaturalist app to document local species and observations. Guides provide education about conservation and Leave No Trace training. Observations are uploaded to iNaturalist to support conservation and stewardship. Participants can track and contribute to their group efforts, with routes tailored to different ecosystems and activity levels.
